Returns & Refund Policy
Effective Date: 20 July 2026
At Meubles Monaco, a trading name of IFR Holdings Ltd, we are committed to providing a transparent and trusted marketplace for buying and selling quality second-hand furniture throughout Monaco and the South of France.
As Meubles Monaco operates as an online marketplace connecting Buyers and Sellers, our Returns & Refund Policy reflects the nature of second-hand goods and our role as an intermediary rather than the seller of most Items.
Nothing in this policy affects any mandatory legal rights available under applicable consumer protection laws.
1. Inspecting Your Item
Buyers are strongly encouraged to inspect every Item carefully before or at the time of collection.
Inspection should include checking:
-
overall condition;
-
dimensions;
-
colour and finish;
-
any visible damage;
-
completeness;
-
functionality (where appropriate); and
-
whether the Item matches its Listing.
If a Buyer believes an Item has been materially misrepresented, they should notify the Seller immediately and before removing the Item from the collection location wherever reasonably possible.
2. After Collection
Once an Item has been inspected, accepted and collected, the sale will normally be regarded as complete.
Returns, refunds or exchanges will not normally be available simply because:
-
you change your mind;
-
the Item does not fit your space;
-
you prefer a different colour or finish;
-
you overlooked information contained within the Listing;
-
transport costs were higher than expected; or
-
normal signs of age or wear are present on a second-hand Item.
This does not affect any mandatory legal rights or claims arising from fraud, ownership issues or material misrepresentation.
3. Material Misrepresentation
If an Item is materially different from its Listing, the Buyer should contact Meubles Monaco as soon as reasonably possible.
Examples may include:
-
significant undisclosed structural damage;
-
substantially incorrect dimensions;
-
receiving a different Item;
-
major undisclosed repairs;
-
incorrect brand or manufacturer where this materially affects value;
-
significant undisclosed defects affecting normal use.
Minor wear, age-related marks, colour variations caused by photography or issues clearly disclosed within the Listing will not normally constitute material misrepresentation.
Where appropriate, Meubles Monaco may request photographs, correspondence or other evidence before assisting with resolution.
4. Reservation Payments
Certain Items require a Reservation Payment, normally €25, to reserve the Item.
Unless otherwise stated:
-
the Reservation Payment is credited towards the final purchase price if the sale completes;
-
it may be refunded where the Seller withdraws the Item, the Item is no longer available or the Item has been materially misrepresented;
-
it will normally not be refunded where the Buyer changes their mind, fails to attend an agreed viewing or collection, or decides not to proceed for reasons unrelated to the Listing.
Refunds are processed using the original payment method wherever reasonably possible.
5. Returns for Professional Sellers
Some Items may be sold by Professional Sellers rather than Private Sellers.
Where a Professional Seller sells to a Consumer, additional legal rights, including statutory cancellation or refund rights, may apply depending on the circumstances and applicable law.
Nothing in this policy limits those mandatory rights.
6. Seller Responsibilities
Sellers should ensure that every Listing is:
-
accurate;
-
complete;
-
honest;
-
supported by clear photographs; and
-
includes any significant defects, repairs or damage.
Providing accurate information helps avoid disputes and protects the integrity of the marketplace.
Where a Listing materially misrepresents an Item, the Seller may be responsible for any refund or other remedy required by law.
7. Transport Damage
Meubles Monaco does not provide transport services.
Once an Item has been collected by the Buyer or by a transport provider appointed by the Buyer, responsibility for damage occurring during transport rests with the party responsible under the relevant transport arrangements.
We strongly recommend using experienced professional furniture movers.
8. Listing Fees
Our standard listing fee is €25 for up to three Items.
Listing fees are non-refundable once work has commenced on preparing or publishing the Listing, unless otherwise required by law.
9. Cancellations
Seller cancellations
If a Seller withdraws an Item after it has been reserved, Meubles Monaco may refund the Buyer's Reservation Payment.
Repeated cancellations may result in Listings being suspended or Seller accounts being restricted.
Buyer cancellations
Where a Buyer chooses not to proceed after reserving an Item, the Reservation Payment will normally not be refunded unless:
-
the Seller cannot provide the Item;
-
the Item has been materially misrepresented; or
-
another refund is required by applicable law.
10. Circumvention of the Marketplace
Meubles Monaco invests significant time and resources in introducing Buyers and Sellers.
Where Users deliberately attempt to avoid Platform Fees by completing a transaction outside the marketplace after an introduction through Meubles Monaco, we reserve the right to:
-
recover any commission or fees due;
-
suspend or terminate User accounts;
-
remove Listings; and
-
take appropriate legal action where necessary.
11. Dispute Resolution
If a disagreement arises between a Buyer and Seller, Meubles Monaco may assist by:
-
reviewing photographs and Listing information;
-
considering communications between the parties;
-
requesting additional evidence;
-
facilitating discussions; and
-
proposing a practical resolution where appropriate.
Although we are happy to assist, Meubles Monaco is not generally a party to the contract of sale between Buyer and Seller.
