Key Dates in Monaco for 2027: Public Holidays, Events and Calendar

Last updated: October 2026

Life in Monaco follows a calendar of its own: quiet winter weeks, a crowded run of spring weekends, a long summer season and the warm, ceremonial close of the year around the Prince’s Day. Whether you live here all year, keep a second home on the Riviera or let your apartment during the big events, this guide gathers Monaco’s official 2027 public holidays and the major dates already announced, with practical ideas for getting your home ready for each part of the year.

Official Public Holidays in Monaco – 2027

Monaco has twelve statutory public holidays, set by Act no. 798 of 18 February 1966. Easter falls on Sunday 28 March 2027, which fixes the dates of Easter Monday, Ascension, Whit Monday and Corpus Christi (Fête-Dieu).

Holiday Date in 2027
Jour de l’An (New Year’s Day) Friday 1 January
Sainte-Dévote Wednesday 27 January
Lundi de Pâques (Easter Monday) Monday 29 March
Fête du Travail (Labour Day) Saturday 1 May
Ascension Thursday 6 May
Lundi de Pentecôte (Whit Monday) Monday 17 May
Fête-Dieu (Corpus Christi) Thursday 27 May
Assomption (Assumption Day) Sunday 15 August, observed on Monday 16 August
Toussaint (All Saints’ Day) Monday 1 November
Fête du Prince (Prince’s Day, National Day) Friday 19 November
Immaculée Conception (Immaculate Conception) Wednesday 8 December
Noël (Christmas Day) Saturday 25 December

The Sunday rule: when New Year’s Day, 1 May, the Assumption, All Saints’ Day, the Prince’s Day or Christmas Day falls on a Sunday, the following Monday becomes a public holiday. In 2027 this applies only to the Assumption, so Monday 16 August is a day off. Labour Day and Christmas Day fall on a Saturday and are not moved.

Long weekends to note: Friday 1 January, Easter Monday 29 March, Whit Monday 17 May, Monday 16 August, Monday 1 November and Friday 19 November. With Ascension on Thursday 6 May and Corpus Christi on Thursday 27 May, many residents also take the Friday that follows.

Preparing Your Home Through the Year

January – A Calm Start

Between the Rally and the Circus Festival, January is a gentle month at home. It is the natural moment to take stock: which pieces you love, which no longer suit the room, and what you would like to change before spring. If a sofa, a dining table or a pair of armchairs no longer fits, listing it for sale early gives buyers time to arrange a viewing at your home before the busy season.

Spring – Ready Before May

From the tennis in April to the Grand Prix in early June, Monaco’s spring calendar is unusually dense in 2027, with the E-Prix, Top Marques, Ascension, Whit Monday and Corpus Christi all within a few weeks. If you host guests or let your apartment, plan any changes in March: lighter seating, a larger dining table or outdoor and terrace furniture for the balcony. Allow time for collection, too. We do not deliver, but we recommend trusted local transport partners who know Monaco’s buildings and parking well.

Summer – Hosting at Home

Summer is about long evenings on the terrace. Outdoor dining sets and comfortable lounge seating make the most of the season, and the long weekend of the Assumption on 15 and 16 August is a good date to plan around.

Autumn – Yacht Show and the Prince’s Day

Once the Yacht Show is over, the Riviera settles into its quieter months. It is a good moment to bring warmth back indoors with armchairs, lamps and rugs before the celebrations of 19 November. Autumn is also when many owners prepare a move or a change of home, and selling well-made pieces through a curated resale marketplace is a simple way to give them a second life.

December – Receiving Family and Friends

From the Immaculate Conception to Christmas, December is a time for long tables and full houses. A generous dining table, extra chairs or a statement marble or stone piece can change the feel of a room just in time for the holidays.

Plan Ahead, Live Beautifully

Use these dates to plan both your diary and your home. Whether you are refreshing a room before the season or selling pieces before a move, Meubles Monaco connects buyers and sellers of quality furniture in Monaco and on the French Riviera. Pieces stay in the seller’s home until collection, and we can recommend transport partners when you need them.
