Used Ligne Roset Togo resale value: what is a second-hand Togo worth?

Across Europe, used Ligne Roset Togo fireside chairs are being offered at a median of €2,050 (12 listings, €1,700 to €2,309), slightly above the €1,956.88 starting price for a new one in entry fabric in France. That does not make a used Togo worth more than a new one: many are leather or freshly re-covered, finishes that cost more new, and these are asking prices, not sales. It does suggest that Togo holds its value well.

  • Togo made up 63 of the 80 used Ligne Roset listings we tracked on seven resale sites in six European countries.
  • Used Togo fireside chairs asked a median of €2,050 (12 listings, €1,700 to €2,309); a new one starts from €1,956.88 in entry fabric in France.
  • Used Togo 3-seat sofas asked a median of €3,629 (9 listings), against €3,635.97 new in entry fabric; corners asked €2,200 (9 listings), against €2,774.42.
  • The other 17 Ligne Roset listings, from Ploum to Pumpkin, asked a median of €995.
  • Meubles Monaco has listed 374 pre-owned designer pieces since March 2025, and 64% of completed sales across all brands went through at the full asking price.

Why used Togo prices sit so close to new

Michel Ducaroy's all-foam Togo has been made since 1973. Four things explain its prices.

The new price is an entry price. €1,956.88 buys a fireside chair in the entry-level cover. The default cover on the French product page was €2,805.88, and a UK retailer listed an Alcantara fireside chair at £2,478 (about €2,914) before discount. Leather and Alcantara chairs are compared with a cheaper finish.

Many used Togos are leather or re-covered. Five of the 12 fireside chairs were leather, asking €1,995 to €2,185. Three re-covered by dealers asked €1,900 to €2,309. The other four (velvet, corduroy, Alcantara and one unspecified) asked €1,700 to €2,000; three of them were below the new entry price.

Asking is not selling. The closest European pointer to achieved prices is dealer listings marked sold, which show only the last listed price: at REHAUS in the UK, a Togo 2-seater in Alcantara at £2,200 (about €2,587), a 3-seater at £2,400 (about €2,822) and a five-piece set at £7,200 (about €8,467). That 3-seater is well below the €3,629 median asking price. In the US, a Togo loveseat sold at Circle Auction for $1,300 in August 2024.

1970s leather is priced as a collectable. On Selency, two 1970s leather 2-seaters with arms asked €6,766 each, against €4,473.84 for the nearest current model (the moyen canapé with arms) new in entry fabric. We kept these out of the 2-seat figures above.

Beyond Togo: Ploum, Pumpkin and other Ligne Roset pieces

Outside Togo, prices fall away. Pierre Paulin's Pumpkin 2-seater asked €1,300, 42% of the €3,066.84 new price; a renovated 1970 Marsala fireside chair asked €950, against €2,647.97 new. Two Ploum sofas asked 23% and 65% of their stated new price. Multy, Nomade and Calin sofas asked €200 to €1,380.

What drives Ligne Roset resale value on the Riviera

  • The element. Fireside chairs and 3-seaters hold value best; corners trail at 79% of new.
  • The cover. Leather and Alcantara command more than everyday fabric; for a re-cover, say who did it and in what material.
  • The foam. Togo is all foam, so shape and firmness matter as much as the cover.
  • Proof of origin. A Ligne Roset label or invoice supports your price; we excluded a "Togo-style" chair at €170 and a replica maker's Togo.
  • Logistics. Togo is light and low, ideal for Monaco lifts.

Pricing advice for sellers

Across Europe, velvet, corduroy and plain fabric fireside chairs asked €1,700 to €1,850, below the new entry price, and an Alcantara chair €2,000; leather chairs asked €1,995 to €2,185. For a 3-seater, the last listed price of about €2,822 on a UK dealer listing marked sold is a sensible reference for a private sale. Across all brands on Meubles Monaco, the median asking price is 34.5% of the seller's reported original price, against 43% of stated new prices across Europe (different reference prices; see methodology), and the median time from listing to sale is 66 days.

We welcome Ligne Roset pieces, Togo above all. You list from €25 with photos; we curate and grade the listing; a Riviera buyer who reserves online is introduced to you to arrange a viewing in your home. 64% of completed sales across all brands went through at the full asking price, when buyers negotiated the average reduction was 21%, and you keep 85% of the sale price. Advice for buyers

Before paying close to new, compare with the €1,956.88 entry price and ask what you gain. Ask for the label or invoice, check the foam for sagging, and confirm what a re-cover is made of. Pieces stay in the seller's home: you reserve online for €25, we introduce you to the seller to arrange a viewing, and you pay the balance online before collection. We grade listings from photos and descriptions (how we grade our furniture) but do not examine pieces in person. See how to know if designer furniture is real and browse our Ligne Roset collection.

How we calculated these figures

European market. In early October 2026 we collected 80 used Ligne Roset listings from seven resale sites: Selency (18), eBay.de (16), Marktplaats (14), Kleinanzeigen (13), 2ememain (11), REHAUS (4) and Subito (4), with sellers in Belgium, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands and the UK, plus Selency (France), which does not show seller locations. We excluded replicas, new or ex-showroom stock, items of unclear attribution and live auction lots. Figures are asking prices (Selency's as displayed, after reductions). The two 1970s 2-seaters with arms (€6,766 each) are left out of the 2-seat figure (13 listings) and shown separately, because they correspond to a different current model, the moyen canapé with arms. Five listings stated a new price (median 49%), too few to generalise, so we compare with official ligne-roset.com France "from" prices for the entry cover, including eco-tax; UK and German official prices are similar (fireside chair £1,800 and €1,953). "Sold" dealer prices are the last listed price on a listing marked sold. GBP is converted at €1.176 (ECB, 2 October 2026). Across the eight brands we tracked, 492 listings on 11 sites in six countries were collected; 109 stated a new price, with a median asking price of 43% of it.

Meubles Monaco. Listings from March 2025 and completed sales from April 2025 to early October 2026: 374 listings, of which 264 had a reported original price (median asking 34.5% of it); 39 completed sales, 31 with an original price (median 31% of it); 64% of completed sales across all brands at full asking price; 21% average reduction when negotiated; median 66 days to sell (37 sales with dates). Original prices are reported by sellers and not independently checked. Our 34.5% compares asking prices with sellers' reported original prices, while the European 43% compares asking prices with new prices stated in listings, so the two are a guide rather than a like-for-like comparison.
