Used Cassina resale value: LC2, LC4, Utrecht and Maralunga prices
Across Europe, a used LC4 chaise longue is advertised at a median of €4,247 (4 listings), yet four European auction results for the LC4 ranged from €1,530 to €2,500, or 29% to 48% of the €5,224 starting price of a new one. For sellers, the realistic price sits between the two, and the Cassina stamp and serial number help support the price.
- We tracked 58 used Cassina listings on six European resale sites; the median asking price was €4,098.
- At Quittenbaum in Munich, an LC2 armchair made €2,300 in March 2025 and a pair of LC2 armchairs €1,800 in March 2026; a new LC2 armchair starts from €5,801.
- Single Utrecht armchairs asked a median of €3,403 (4 listings), 77% of the €4,403 new price.
- Maralunga 2- and 3-seat sofas asked a median of €4,050 (8 listings), 41% of the €9,932 starting price new.

LC2, LC3 and LC4: asking prices against auction results
Cassina makes the Le Corbusier, Pierre Jeanneret and Charlotte Perriand furniture under licence, and its pieces are stamped and numbered: the auction lots we recorded cite the Cassina mark, model name and serial number.
LC4. Quittenbaum sold a 1970s or 1980s cowhide LC4 for €2,200 in July 2025; Setdart in Barcelona sold two marked examples for €2,400 and €2,500; Artcurial in Paris sold a black pony-hide LC4 from around 1980 for €1,530. Asking prices run from €1,750, for a chair with worn pad edges, to €4,900 for a cowhide example.
LC2 and LC3. A Berlin seller offered a black leather LC3 3-seater at €10,999, 84% of the €13,107 starting price new, and a 2-seater at €8,399, while a dealer's worn LC2 2-seater, with abrasions and rust on the frame, asked €1,500. At auction, the LC2 has made €1,800 to €2,300 per lot at Quittenbaum. Dealer asking prices can include refurbishment or a warranty; auction results show what bidders paid and may exclude buyer's premium.
Replicas. Le Corbusier designs are widely copied. We excluded from our figures a self-declared "high quality replica" LC2 at €450 a chair and a 1990s LC3 described by its seller as a replica at €600.
Utrecht, Maralunga and the Cab chair
Utrecht. Gerrit Rietveld's armchair holds value well: single armchairs asked a median of €3,403, against €4,403 new. A pair asked €6,000. In the US, Wright sold a pair with Cassina labels for $11,430 in June 2025.
Maralunga. Vico Magistretti's sofa with the folding back varies widely in price. As-new 2-seaters were offered at €1,599 and €1,999 in the Netherlands, while other 2- and 3-seaters asked up to €5,800, including a white leather 2-seater at €5,000. The median is 41% of the starting price new.
Cab. Three sets of Mario Bellini's leather chair asked €725 to €1,050 per chair, against €2,510 new.
What drives Cassina resale value on the Riviera
- Marks and provenance. A legible Cassina stamp, model name and serial number, plus an invoice, separate a licensed piece from a copy.
- Leather, hide and chrome. Pony hide, cowhide and leather show wear at the edges; rust or pitting on chrome frames lowers the price.
- The model. Buyers search by name, so put the model and designer in your title.
- Size. An LC4 or LC2 armchair fits easily into a Monaco flat; a 3-seat LC3 or Maralunga needs a lift and doorway check.
Pricing advice for sellers
For an LC4 or LC2 with clear marks, treat the auction results as a floor and dealer asking prices as a ceiling, and price between them. Utrecht armchairs hold value well in our data (77% of new), while Maralunga and Cab chairs are priced well below new. Across all brands on Meubles Monaco, the median asking price is 34.5% of the seller's reported original price, against 43% of stated new prices across Europe (the reference prices differ; see methodology), and when buyers negotiated the average reduction was 21%.
We welcome Cassina pieces. You list from €25 with photos, including the stamp and serial number; we curate and grade the listing, and a Riviera buyer who reserves online is introduced to you to arrange a viewing in your home. 64% of completed sales across all brands went through at the full asking price, and you keep 85% of the sale price. Advice for buyers
At the viewing, look for the Cassina stamp, model name and serial number on the frame, ask for the invoice, and check leather and chrome. An LC piece priced far below the auction results above is more likely a copy. Pieces stay in the seller's home: you reserve online for €25, we introduce you to the seller to arrange a viewing, and you pay the balance online before collection. We grade each listing from its photos and description (how we grade our furniture) but do not examine pieces in person, so the viewing is your chance to check. How we calculated these figures
European market. In early October 2026 we collected 58 used Cassina listings from six resale sites: Deesup (20), Whoppah (16), Kleinanzeigen (12), Marktplaats (5), Subito (3) and 2ememain (2), with sellers in Belgium, Germany, Italy and the Netherlands; Deesup does not show item locations. We excluded replicas, new or new-in-box items, live auction lots and wanted ads. Figures are asking prices. Three listings stated a new price (median 70%), too few to generalise, so we compare models with smow.com (Germany) starting prices for an entry configuration. The seven European auction results (Quittenbaum 4, Setdart 2, Artcurial 1) are prices as published; whether buyer's premium is included is not stated, and the Setdart and Artcurial pages show no sale date. Unsold lots are excluded; US results are in dollars. Across the eight brands we tracked, 492 listings on 11 sites in six countries were collected; 109 stated a new price, with a median asking price of 43% of it.
Meubles Monaco. Listings from March 2025 and completed sales from April 2025 to early October 2026: 374 listings, of which 264 had a reported original price (median asking 34.5% of it); 39 completed sales, 31 with an original price (median 31% of it); 64% of completed sales across all brands at full asking price; 21% average reduction when negotiated; median 66 days to sell (37 sales with dates). Original prices are reported by sellers and not independently checked. Our 34.5% compares asking prices with sellers' reported original prices, while the European 43% compares asking prices with new prices stated in listings, so the two are a guide rather than a like-for-like comparison.
