Charles, Camaleonda and Tufty-Time compared with new
Charles. Antonio Citterio's sofa is the most-listed B&B Italia model in our sample. Its €2,948 median is under half the £5,360 (about €6,303) starting price of a 3-seat module at a UK retailer, and many listings are larger corners. Charles is regularly resold re-covered: three re-upholstered or restored listings asked €2,300 to €3,950.
Camaleonda. Mario Bellini's modular sofa is priced by the element: €6,800 for one leather element, €37,500 for a seven-piece set. A showroom four-module velvet set asked €10,690 against a stated original of €15,604 (69%). Original 1970s Camaleondas, outside our figures, are a collectors' market: a set bought new in 1975 is offered at €17,000 in Italy, and in the US, Wright sold a 1971 example for $18,900 in May 2023.
Tufty-Time. Patricia Urquiola's sofa asked a median of €5,500 (8 listings), against £10,466 (about €12,308) for a new 320 cm version. Listings stating a new price asked from 40% (a dealer's as-new corner) to 92% (a private sofa about three years old).
Up. At Quittenbaum in Munich, an Up 5_6 armchair and ottoman made €2,800 hammer in June 2026, half the €5,644 an Italian retailer charges new.

What drives B&B Italia resale value on the Riviera
- Model name. Buyers search by model, so name the model and designer, and keep the invoice.
- Completeness. Modular sofas are valued element by element: list every module, ottoman and cushion, with dimensions.
- Upholstery. Leather and clean, current fabrics help; so does a professional re-cover.
- Size. A 325 cm Charles corner suits a villa better than a Monaco flat; measure lifts and doorways.
- Competition. Ex-display and showroom pieces from dealers asked 55% to 73% of their stated new price (six listings), so a private seller asking more competes with near-new stock.
Pricing advice for sellers
The middle half of European listings stating a new price asked 48% to 65% of it, and asking prices are not sale prices. On Meubles Monaco the median time to sell is 66 days, and negotiated sales averaged a 21% reduction. For a quicker sale, aim towards the lower end.
Every piece on Meubles Monaco is curated, graded from your photos and shown to Riviera buyers; a buyer who reserves is introduced to you to arrange a viewing in your home. 64% of completed sales across all brands went through at the full asking price, and you keep 85% of the sale price. Advice for buyers
Ask for the model, elements, dimensions and any re-cover. Confirm the era: original 1970s pieces are priced as collectables. You reserve online for €25, we introduce you to the seller to arrange a viewing at their home, and you pay the balance online before collection. We grade each listing from its photos and description (how we grade our furniture) but do not examine pieces in person, so use the viewing to check everything; we can recommend trusted local transport partners. How we calculated these figures
European market. In early October 2026 we collected 70 used B&B Italia listings (including Maxalto) from eight resale sites: Deesup (13), Subito (12), Whoppah (12), Marktplaats (10), revive.de (10), Kleinanzeigen (9), 2ememain (2) and Rehaus (2), with sellers in Belgium, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands and the UK. We excluded new or unused items, live auction lots, wanted ads, replicas and 1970s pieces (mentioned separately). Figures are asking prices. 23 listings stated a new price; ten of those were from revive.de, which gives its own new-price reference. Other new prices are from UK and Italian retailers (Innes, Aram before discount, Tomassini, Mohd) or as stated by sellers, and are starting prices unless described otherwise. GBP is converted at €1.176 (ECB, 2 October 2026). The Quittenbaum result is a hammer price before buyer's premium. One Rehaus listing marked sold is included at its last listed price. Across the eight brands we tracked, 492 listings on 11 sites in six countries were collected; 109 stated a new price, with a median asking price of 43% of it.
Meubles Monaco. Listings from March 2025 and completed sales from April 2025 to early October 2026: 374 listings, of which 264 had a reported original price (median asking 34.5% of it); 39 completed sales, 31 with an original price (median 31% of it); 64% of completed sales across all brands at full asking price; 21% average reduction when negotiated; median 66 days to sell (37 sales with dates). For B&B Italia we show 7 listings, 3 with a reported original price. Original prices are reported by sellers and not independently checked. Our 34.5% compares asking prices with sellers' reported original prices, while the European 43% compares asking prices with new prices stated in listings, so the two are a guide rather than a like-for-like comparison. Asking prices include our 15% commission; "sold" means paid in full through the site. See also our Riviera designer resale report 2026.
